Airbus 2, Caernarfon 3

Feb 9 2007

The Flintshire Chronicle, Llandudno

THE Wingmakers are staring relegation in the face after an injury-time goal condemned them to defeat in their big basement battle. Just seconds remained when Chris Jones struck to give rock-bottom Canaries a vital win.

It was harsh on Owen's men who twice came from behind and felt they should have been awarded a penalty with the scores locked at 2-2.

Eifion Jones had put the visitors ahead in the fourth-minute after a mistake by keeper Adam McGee, but the hosts soon levelled when Mark Allen scored his first for the club. Caernarfon restored their lead just before the break through John Rowley, but after James McIntosh levelled the scores on the hour-mark with a cracking strike, Airbus took over.

And with six minutes to play, referee Rob Duncan pointed to the spot after a foul on player-boss Owen. However, he reversed his decision on the intervention of his assistant who flagged for offside. McIntosh and James Hussaney then had goals ruled out for offside. Star man: John Davies.

Airbus: McGee, Hunter, Sudlow (Connelly 88), L Williams, Davies, Allen, Edwards, Owen, D Williams, McIntosh, Wynne (Hussaney 60). Subs: Farr, Hughes. Booked: Sudlow.

Goals: Allen 12, McIntosh 60.

Caernarfon: Pritchard, Harris, Harrison, Newell, E Jones, Quinn, C Jones, Maxwell, Rowley (Peters 68), Addo (Maloney 80), M Thomas (J Thomas 75).

Goals: E Jones 4, Rowley 43, C Jones 90.

Attendance: 207. ..SUPL:
