He said: “When you’re out of management the phone goes dead and there’s nothing quite like the banter of the dressing room.”

Tomorrow’s opponents Llanelli are one of the Welsh Premier’s two full-time teams but O’Shaughnessy is not grumbling about testing his side against wealthier or more high-profile outfits.

“I’ve got plenty of experience in the Welsh Premier and having full-time clubs like Llanelli and TNS can only make the league better.

“You’ve also got teams like Rhyl and Port Talbot, who have started the season well, who are professional in their approach and it’s a positive thing because you don’t want to be playing against amateurs.

“There are no easy games for us but if we all pull together then we can turn things around.”
