Nomads 3, Llandudno 1

Feb 9 2007

The Flintshire Chronicle, Llandudno

THE Quay's sensational cup record at Cae Y Castell continued as they booked their place in the quarter-finals.

Nev Powell's men have now won all five of the cup matches they have played on home turf this season.

Yet they were pushed all the way by their Cymru Alliance visitors, who went in front in the very first-minute when Chris Hogg took advantage of keeper Paul Smith's error.

Parity was restored two minutes later though when Adam Dickinson crossed for Craig Garside to score. But the expected avalanche never came and Llandudno were more than a match for their higher-league hosts.

However, Nomads' greater firepower told 17 minutes from time when top-scorer Dickinson took his tally up to 15 by heading in after Chris Williams' shot had hit the post.

And two minutes later Marc Limbert killed the contest when he slotted in a penalty after Christian Seargeant was felled in the box. Star man: Christian Seargeant.
