RELIEVED Caersws were forced to come from behind with three second-half strikes to avoid a cup upset.
The Bluebirds bossed the encounter, but made hard work of toppling their resolute visitors after failing to capitalise on a string of good chances.
"We should have killed them off in the first 20 minutes," reflected manager Mickey Evans. "We've got to start putting our chances away."
Neville Thompson, Ross Stephens and Neil Mitchell spurned good openings, while the Bluebirds also found experienced Pat O'Hagan in fine form in goal.
And they paid the price for their profligacy six minutes before half time when Jamie Stokes sent a looping header over keeper Andy Mulliner after meeting a cross from the left by Ricky Coffe.
