Wrexham's Ian Houston, who had a fine run for Wales in last weekend's international Snowdon race, completed a hat-trick of wins in the midweek series of fell-races in the Clwydian hills. He finished almost a minute ahead of runner-up Adam Peers (Liverpool Harriers), with his clubmate and fellow Welsh international Matt Gilbert third. The pair are expected to be in action in Snowdonia again tomorrow with the three-mile Garn race forming part of the Welsh open and WFRA championships. The contrast could hardly be greater with another event in the area, the Dolgellau five-mile road race which, with its flat course, produces some of the fastest times in the region. On August 3 is the third race in Deestriders' Off-Road series at Shotton. |
