COMMONWEALTH champion Kenny Anderson is determined to follow in the footsteps of Joe Calzaghe as he prepares for his first professional fight on the undercard to the Welshman. The current world super-middleweight champion will take on Sakio Bika in the defence of his WBO and IBF titles at the MEN Arena in Manchester on October 14. But, while the Edinburgh fighter has a future world title in mind, he is currently just enjoying life as a professional. Anderson said: "I feel my style is better suited to the professional ranks. "I really cannot wait until October 14. Fighting on such a big card will give me a huge buzz. "People talk to me about pressure, but I fought five times in 10 days in Melbourne in front of 8,000 people at the venue and millions watching worldwide on television, so I won't be too nervous." |
