Fair plans are loopy!

BY now they will have completed building the Pepsi Loop on the Junk Yard fairground at Prestatyn.

They started on July 8 and considering it is a travelling piece they have done well, it must be hard finding all that timber to prop it on, someone said they lost the instructions and it should be a big wheel ride! I think they were kidding.

Any way, as far as Denbighshire county council and the 17 councillors that voted for it (one of them actually lives in Prestatyn!) they all reckon it’s safe as houses.

So I think they should all have as many free rides as they like on the propped-up Loopy Loop. Jokes aside, I would not like to be the HSE or ADIPS representative, what a decision to have to make saying that the Prestatyn Loopy Loop is safe and everything is OK for children as young as 12 to enjoy themselves on such a piece of junk.

And what makes me laugh is they are going to charge people to ride it! They couldn’t pay me enough to get on it.

The amazing thing is; was this junk fairground proposed in the application made by Ffrith Leisure? If I remember rightly, Tir Prince was knocked back because of its involvement with fairgrounds and markets.

All I can say is I really hope I am totally wrong about being concerned over such people building and operating such a ride on wooden blocks, on ground that was levelled by a person who cannot level, by a company that has not been on the level. The question remains – is it really worth the risk?

However what about the rest of the Ffrith, our lovely gardens donated to the people of Prestatyn. The brambles are doing well, large areas are doing nicely going back to their primeval state, the bridges are turning a lovely shade of rust and the weeds add that natural no-one cares look. The waterfall is slowly being forgotten about and the pond is brewing its toxins quite nicely.

We at the Prestatyn Ffrith Gardens Association will do what we can but remember, all stupidity needs; is commonsense to do nothing. Any comments, please send them to thewoody57@hotmail.com For more information go to www.prestatyn.webeden.co.uk
