Holiday paradise has gone

Aug 13 2008

by Our Correspondent, Rhyl Visitor

I have been reading the comments in your paper concerning the decline of our town Rhyl.

I was born in St Asaph Street and remember the postcards: “Having a lovely time/Wish you were here”. Sadly those days are long gone.

Also the family from Birmingham who wrote about the gardens along the front. Yes, they are a disgrace I agree. The people who clean the town up deserve a gold medal.

And why do drug addicts flood to Rhyl? For one reason: a place where they can get help, hang around carrying drink, urinating near the bus terminal and leaving bottle and cans. Not a very nice picture to paint.

Would I send a postcard to anyone from Rhyl saying “Having a lovely time/Wish you were here”?

You must be joking.
