Celebration marks end of an area at care home

Sep 17 2008

by David Rutland, Rhyl Visitor

FORMER residents, friends and staff of Llys Nant Residential Home in Prestatyn are invited to take a trip down memory lane at a special celebration to mark the end of an era at the home.

Llys Nant, which opened in 1970, is set to close to make way for an extra care housing scheme on the site, which is being built by Wales and West Housing Association.

Most of the residents have moved to other homes or are planning to relocate to extra care home schemes in North Denbighshire.

A celebration event is being held at Llys Nant on Friday between 2pm and 7pm, and members of the public are invited to attend.

Councillor Pauline Dobb, cabinet member for Health, Social Care and Wellbeing, said: “Llys Nant has been at the heart of the local community for many years and has offered an excellent service to hundreds of residents over the years.

“It is held dear in people’s hearts and we would like to mark this special milestone in its history in style.”
