BRIDES and grooms-to-be have the chance to check out local suppliers for ideas to help add that distinctive Welsh touch to their special day this weekend. Glasdir, the Rural Development Centre in Llanrwst, hosts its wedding fair on Sunday. The fair will provide an opportunity for brides-to-be to see a range of local companies who can provide all they need for their special day. Prominent exhibitors will feature dress designers, invitations, cakes, samplers and a harpist to offer a traditional Welsh Santes Dwynwen feel to any wedding ceremony. There will be no shortage of choice for brides-to-be with other dress designers, florists, photographers, caterers and wedding cars also there to provide inspiration and advice. There will be an opportunity to view outfits for brides, mother of the bride, bridesmaids and accessories in a special informal fashion show hosted by Cariad Brides of Abergele at 12pm-2pm. There is a wealth of suppliers in the rural area who can provide things for weddings that are individually designed to the highest standard and simply not what you’d find from larger suppliers or in bigger chain stores. Glasdir itself is not only providing the venue for the fair, but will be showing itself off as a wedding venue, having just gained a licence to perform civil ceremonies. A range of rooms can accommodate anything from 10 to 100 guests plus a complimentary room for the bridal party to change outfits. The fair will be open from 11am- 3.30pm on Sunday and admission is free. For more information contact Glasdir on 01492 640640. |
