NOW in its 60th year, Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling on the people of Rhyl to give up just a few hours of their time during the Great Daffodil Appeal in February and March, to help raise vital funds. By donating a little of your spare time to help out with collections in Rhyl, you could fund two nights of home care nursing for a terminally ill cancer patient in your area. Community fundraising coordinator Michelle McQuillin told the Visitor: "We will be collecting in Rhyl town centre on March 1. "Marie Curie Cancer Care has also been given the opportunity to collect at every Tesco on February 29 and March 1. "Our nurses provide expert home nursing care and emotional support free of charge to cancer patients and their families. By taking part in Great Daffodil Appeal collections near you, you can make it possible for our special care to continue, giving more people the dignity and the choice they deserve." Every night, Marie Curie Nurses care for cancer patients in their own homes, enabling people to spend their last days in familiar surroundings, with their families, friends and pets.
