THIS year’s 20th North Wales Bluegrass Music Festival returns to Conwy on July 4-6 for three days of toe-tapping and hard-driving music. Headlining bands include Special Consensus and Tennessee Hob from the USA, New Section (Czech Republic), Bononia Grass, (Italy) and the cream of British and Irish bands. The main festival site is at Conwy Cricket Club, near Bodlondeb and has a bar facility with hot food also available. Festival organiser, Gill Williams said 2008 could be the biggest and best yet. “It is the 20th so we are really pulling out all the stops. We’ve got the American band Special Consensus playing – we had to book them three years ago as they work on a three-year diary,” said Gill. “They are one of the biggest bluegrass bands around and the only American bluegrass band appearing at a British festival this summer.” Other bluegrass performers include New Essex Bluegrass, Chris Moreton, Britannia Band, The Crocker Brothers, Longway plus many other acts who promise to make the 2008 Bluegrass Music Festival a truly unmissable event for bluegrass-lovers and all music fans alike. The fun starts on Friday, July 4 from 6pm until midnight and follows on the Saturday from midday until midnight with the music continuing on Sunday between 12pm and 5pm.
