TRELAWNYD Male Voice Choir celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, and to mark the occasion they are appearing in concert at the Pavilion Theatre on July 12 at 7.30pm. The choir has featured at the Rhyl theatre on many occasions. Indeed, for their 60th anniversary they appeared on stage with a rising star by the name of Bryn Terfel! Such was the demand for tickets that the choir and Bryn filled the theatre on the Saturday and Sunday. The choir is justifiably proud of its record of success in competition and has won first prize at the National Eisteddfod on no fewer than seven occasions. Much of the success can be attributed to the conductor Geraint Roberts, who has been with them for over 25 years. Also appearing in concert will be tenor Rhys Meirion, and soprano Ros Evans. Rhys has performed with the choir more than once, the last occasion was at the 2007 Mold National Eisteddfod where both he and the choir participated in the acclaimed Tribute to David Lloyd concert. This will be the first time that Ros will have appeared and it promises to be a memorable evening of song. Tickets to see the show are £12, concessions £1 off.
