A THEATRE group is hoping Visitor readers will help them rise from the flames. The Phoenix Performers are a drama, dancing and singing company for children and young people aged between seven and 22 years in the Rhyl area. The newly-created ensemble is proving to be a hit with the youngsters, but organiser Glenda Hailwood says they are in need of more recruits. "My family has been running the childrens and young people’s groups for the last five years at The Little Theatre, until we decided to start our own group last summer," said Glenda, from Rhyl. "We have been holding auditions for a pantomime - Cinderella With a Twist, which we are hoping to perform at the end of March, but we would like more people to come and join us. "The plan is also to start up a youth group as part of the Phoenix Performers and we are hoping to perform a Grease-style production in October or November with them. "We are short of boys! We are looking for young people aged 14 and 22 years who are interested in singing, dancing and acting and learning stage skills, especially young men between 16 and 22, to enable us to put this production on."
