ROY Chubby Brown has been selling-out theatres for decades with his unique brand of blue comedy and he will be hoping to do the same when he arrives at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl on Friday, August 22. His comic appearance, multi-coloured funny suit and flying helmet is not far removed from the traditional circus clown. Brown’s delivery, style, comic songs, and hilarious walk/dance is all contained in a genuinely funny man. He is a lovely man off-stage and it is a joy to be in his company, he laughs at himself, (well he is 19 stones) his wife, other people, and life itself. His material is never static; he reviews the newspapers every day and will constantly find comedy within. His philosophy, find one funny piece every day, over a year that is a lot of material. In 2002, Chubby was devastated when diagnosed with throat cancer, and told that if he survived he might never be able to walk again. But after successful treatment, grit, determination and the care of his wife and family, surgeons, doctors and nurses, he is back to his best doing what he loves best, entertaining his loyal fans. The show begins at 7.30pm; tickets from £19.50. Contact the box office on 01745 330000. Book online at www.rhylpavilion.co.uk The Visitor has a pair of tickets to give away.
