INDIE rockers The Kooks will play Venue Cymru in the midst of the festive rush as part of a UK winter tour. The Brighton outfit’s second album Konk reached number one in April after a sell-out US tour earlier this year and the band will also be playing Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and Mexico before arriving in Llandudno in December. Fans can expect hits from The Kooks’ new album and their 2006 debut, Inside In/Inside Out which propelled them towards global success with hits such as Naive and She Moves in her Own Way. Venue Cymru’s marketing manager Richard Jones was excited about the prospect of The Kooks arriving in North Wales and explained headlining acts were now attracting audiences from as far afield as Manchester. “It is quite a coup for the arena, it is really good for Venue Cymru as they are quite a happening band and it is going to create quite a buzz in the box office,” he said.
