RHYL East will see an increase in pickpockets later this month as Theatre in the Community is staging a production of Oliver, to run between next Wednesday (August 13) and August 17 at Rhyl’s Pavilion Theatre. Based on the Charles Dickens novel, the family-orientated musical features memorable characters as recognisable today as when they were written. Fagin, a conniving career criminal; Bill Sykes, a brutal professional murderer; Oliver, a lonely orphan; an entire raft of child pickpockets, and of course, Nancy. The Lionel Bart musical version is full of memorable songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, and As Long As he Needs Me, and follows the journey of young Oliver from the workhouse to London’s Bloomsbury. Tickets are available on 01745 330000. |
